gap

by thespian @ 2008-03-24 - 19:06:54

oh no.
i have a wobbly front tooth.
if it falls out, this lovely white rectangle will be replaced by a black one.
my eating efficiency will be impaired.
though i suppose drink will go down quicker, perhaps.

i think i'll ask the old lady next door if she'll knit me a harness for it with a bit of elastic so i can strap it round the top of my head.
that ought to hold it in place.

i'd look ridiculous if that tooth fell out.

On a practical note - go see your dentist ASAP!

*imagining Thesp with a nice purple and pink knitted tooth holder*

Not sure if you would look more rediculous with the knitted holder or the missing tooth to be honest!

You could snopake the gap?

I agree with deana24.
Why are you loosing teeth at only 43?
Avoid bridgework though.
Sacrifice two healthy teeth to disguise the lose of one!

good advice, thanks.
i had a major operation on my jaw a few years ago and it might be connected with that.
i'll sue!

I developed an abscess in the root of one of my front top incisors when I was about 14.
Antibiotics, deep fills and root canal work over the next 20 odd years, merely delayed the outcome and disguised the problem and pain.
The abscess slowly ate away at not only the tooth, but the nerves, gum and bone.
Eventually the entire front of my face was compromised, from the nasal cavity down to and including my top front four teeth.
Lots of corrective surgery later and the loss of my top front four teeth.
Moral?
GET YOUR JAW AND TEETH CHECKED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
(A clue to the presence of an abscess is the faint smell of rotting meat.)

blimey - that sounds very tough.
i'll be getting it checked out, for sure.
are you all sorted now or do you still have to have treatment?

You say 'Blimey'!
You're my kindred spirit.
:)
Four titanium implants and two 'artificial' bone grafts should last me until at least Tuesday.
Actually they're going to have to.
My surgeon died of a heart attack six months after completing the procedure.
:(
